Disappointed
Why that title? Because i am disappointed with the SD concert today. Frankly and sadly speaking, the whole flow was kinda odd. The concert is to have some 2 to 3 performances, then show a video made by various institution. Some of the videos were good. It certainly does bring the message across of what we can do for our planet and about the social issues the world is facing. I just felt that the flow was kinda odd, cos there isnt much high climax stuffs going on, and the most of the time, i felt that the climax was either normal or low.
As for the performances, i only liked the samba drums and the accapella. The rock band by orange cove was ok. As for the rest, needs more improvement. I do have this particular problem on how gakkai always brings such concerts and wants everyone to bring new friends. As a new friend, if i have a friend that wants me to go to his/her religion/organization’s concert, and he/she says its quite a big concert, i would have some expectations. Although they are not professionals, but at least something entertaining and able to capture the attention of the audience would be good enough. But that doesnt seem to happen on this year’s SD Concert. Dance performances definitely needs more cleaning up, put in more character and attitude into their routine and not simply just dance out the routine. And the worse thing that could happen during such performances is to forget dance steps or get the counting wrong and go out of sync. Seriously, i cant stand watching a dance performance that doesnt have soul or character. Even with a simple routine that is danced out with effort and character and passion would look fantastic even though it looks simple. The rock bands, hmmmm i just have to say that just need to polish up your singing skills before you start to sing with a microphone. Cos a singer should know where you stand. If you start singing without good preparation for your vocal, it will be just noise to the audience. Instruments, just one phrase, please practice more.
I preferred last year’s SD Concert. It has more energy and more vibe in all the performances. Really hope that future concerts will have better quality performances. Even if it is my crew that is doing a performance, we will always emphasise on the quality of our performance. Only by producing good quality performances then you will be able to inspire the people out there! What i mean by quality? That is to do all culture performances with character, soul and passion! No matter what kind of performance one puts up, if its done from the heart, it will show and and definitely will capture the attention of the audiences! And not forgetting to always have practice practice and more practice!
Days passing by as a civilian…
Being an ORD-ed person seems a little different. Now you have all the free time, all the time to do all the things you wanna do. Working in LTC for the pass 1yr 6mths has passed like a blink of an eye. People always say this eh, ‘time will pass very fast one, you’ll find one year to pass you by just like that.”
But when you’re experience time passing by, it can be excruciatingly painful. Starting to miss the peeps at LTC. Funny huh, most of the time, NSFs like myself, would love to ORD and f*** off from the place and start to enjoy my days as a civilian. But i seem to be missing those times i had. Hmmm, being a little emo now. Must be because im listening to Kiki Ebsen’s songs now. Its love songs, so it creates the emo feel =P
Got to listen the songs while im in JK’s car, love it. Soulful vocals with jazz music. Love it! Went to buy it only at gramophone (exclusive disc from gramophone only!) Go check it out if ya like soul music with the added jazz spice~
Oh btw, i dyed my hair on the day i ORD-ed which is last friday! 2 years of black hair is enough for me. Now i want to play with my hair again, but this time, will try different stuffs! I bought the bleach and the hair dye (Crystal Ash) for only 14 bucks! Watson having some sale going on, so most of the stuffs are at least 30-50% off! My lucky day! Bleached and coloured my hair! But the colour did not come as crystal ash, came out looking more like Copper Ash. But im ok with the colour looks quite cool and bright! haha… But now my hair chui already, dry as grass right now due to bleaching and hair dye-ing at one go. Gonna take weeks of intense conditioning before my hair softens up.
Went back to take my IC on monday. 2 years of service and finally i get to see my pink IC. Still can remember how i gave my IC to the clerks when i entered BMT, what a sian feeling! But now finally got it back. You kinda feel happy to see it. Nostalgic feeling? haha. And have to paste the sticker showing that im a NSmen now. Sound old la, NS-MEN! Slacked around in LTC, helped JK out a little bit, even though im not supposed to work. But oh well, i’m someone that just cant sit around. I need to do something!
Had piss up at LTC again on wed. Went into base without much hassle, had lunch with JK and rest of the FLC peeps at taman jurong. Seems like JK is alittle stressed up from being the only controller. Everytime he calls me for help he sounds obviously sian on the phone. Theres a sudden increase in workload due to the audits and all the those new rules coming in. And hes not really familiar with how things work area and procedures etc, but yet being thrown to a situation where you dun really know whats going on, and you try to figure things out on your own. I myself hate to be in that situationa and been in one before. Know that it sucks to the only controller. Everyone will keep on calling ya name to do this and that. And you have no time to rest at all. Haiz, hopefully goes well for him, though i believe he can work around things in one way or another. =)
And lastly, go watch ”i now pronouce you chuck and larry” Its funny as hell. Watched with frank today. Bloody funny and a good time to watch from the start to the end. Well i kinda agree how the movie shows the discremination on homosexual people. This is happening to our current society as well, where homosexuals are still dispised. They are after all human, same as you and me, but their sexual perference are just a little different, yes it is against the cause of nature, but then again, we need to treat as equal, yes.
But then again, it will forever be a problem, a problem that will be in an endless cycle, cause it is human to have such feelings. It only takes one person to start the chain of events of such feelings to out burst and cause a chain reaction, just like how a droplet drops into a pool of water creating waves.

To many males out there, ORD is to be a happy event. But for me, is a mix of both happy and sadness. Im already starting to miss the people over there. And jus when someone who i am able click well, i have to go. Saded. Hope he will do fine. I still stand by my point that is extremely unfair for him to work for 2 mths and cant take leave or even take mc. Ridiculous! When people wanna extend their service, they cant accept cos the reason is not good enough. Wonder what all these people on the top are thinking sometimes. Cant they just make it a case by case basis. Bah..
Anyways, happy ord to all thats ord-ing these few days. Finally a freeman. =)
